Fall Events

Love on Clayton Service Week September 8-14

Safe Families is committed to serving families in crisis by partnering with the local church, where host families open their homes and hearts to vulnerable children.  CCC is a partner church with Safe Families.  We are collecting gift cards to assist Host Families in purchasing diapers and formula and to assist Placing Parents with gas expenditures to complete employment activities and attend visits with their kids. Gift cards can be any denomination from Walmart, Target, Kroger, or any gas station.  You can bring in gift cards and place in the Effner’s mailbox in the church office or place in the basket on the information table Sunday, September 8th.

  • Active Grace Meal Prep and Service

    September 10th 5-7:30pm

Active Grace exists to offer a hand up instead of a hand out through relationship programming.  They walk alongside veterans, individuals, and families in need through homeless relief, development, education, job training, and placement provided at their facility outside of Plainfield at Camp Camby. We are looking for food prepares and servers to set up a meal and serve to 30 individuals that live at their facility or are coming to their weekly food pantry.

  • Mill Creek Support Center

    September 14th 9-10:30am

Mill Creek Support Center provides food to Clayton area families every Tuesday and serves dinner every second Tuesday. We are going to be resurfacing the picnic tables on the outside patio that are used by families who come to the pantry to fellowship and eat the monthly meal.  We will also be planting mums around town to usher in the Fall season

  • Little Oaks Ranch

    September 14th 9-11am

Little Oaks Ranch provides a safe and peaceful atmosphere where at-risk youth and women can find a reprieve from the chaos of life. The Ranch teaches them to care for and ride horses, which translates into life lessons including empathy, courage, responsibility and unconditional love. We are looking for some ranch hands to help in cleaning the horse stalls and moving sand and gravel around the property.

  • Mill Creek East Elementary

    September 14th 9-11am

We will have a group working on landscaping areas of the school, planting mums, and working on their Outdoor Learning Lab.  Volunteers with this project will need to complete a background check form prior to volunteering.  Kristin Effner will get with each volunteer after they sign up to complete the form.

  • Love on Clayton Neighbor Gifts

We would like to bless area businesses and organizations with a sweet treat to say thank you for all they do for the Clayton community.  Sign up for a location and deliver your gift the week of September 8th-14th.  CCC cards will be made available for you to write a note to include with your treat.  You can get CCC cards from Kristin Effner or at the Information Table.
