Seek Wisdom: Recap (Oct. 12)

Published October 26, 2025

Pastor Nathan reminded us from James 1:5 that God is not stingy with His wisdom! We’re called not only to ask for wisdom but to pursue it—by surrounding ourselves with godly people and community.

Think about the seasons you’ve felt closest to God. Chances are, you were walking alongside others who were also seeking Him.

Now think about the seasons when you’ve drifted—when temptation, doubt, or loneliness took over. Often, those are times we’ve isolated ourselves or filled our minds with the wrong voices.

Proverbs 13:20 says, “Walk with the wise and become wise.” Wisdom isn’t absorbed through a screen—it’s cultivated in real relationships. We can’t replace true companionship with online connections. Over time, what we consume can shape our hearts with either hope or harm.

So, who are the wise in your life?

Are the people around you guiding you toward truth or toward comfort?

It’s not about age, education, or success—it’s about godliness.

The wise are those who live out God’s Word daily, not just know it. Knowledge fills the mind; wisdom transforms the heart. When we step away from godly community, we start to spiral and let the enemy’s lies steer us. Stay connected. Get involved in a Sunday small group. Surround yourself with people who bring you closer to Jesus.

Remember:

Wisdom can guide you, but it won’t save you.

Knowledge can inform you, but it won’t transform you. Only Christ can do that.

Wisdom without Christ leaves us empty and unsatisfied—but wisdom with Christ leads us to life and lasting peace.

Declaration:

“With God’s help and by the power of the Holy Spirit, I will seek wisdom. I refuse to let isolation and ungodly influences rule my life. I will grow in godly community.”

Where might you be isolating yourself instead of leaning into community?

How are you intentionally seeking godly wisdom this week?
