Be Consistent: Recap (Sept. 28)
This last Sunday Pastor Nathan started us off with a new sermon series titled: Declaration.
The truth of the matter is that the words we speak and the commitments we live by shape the direction of our lives.
This week we declared: "With God's help and the power of the Holy Spirit, I will be a person of consistency."
Consistency is the spiritual quality that undergirds growth in every area of life. It's not just about attendance or how often you complete a task. Consistency matters because transformation happens when you do something consistently what others only do occasionally. (1 Timothy 4:8)
Here are 4 keys to win the battle of staying consistent:
1) Start Small (Zechariah 4:10)
- This doesn't mean start to change things dramatically, it means just start. Habits can develop from a consistent and intentional attitude.
2) Don't Give Up (Galatians 6:9)
- Growth is not an up and down graph. Growth is a patient action. Like Daniel, we too can keep pursuing God in the daily moments.
3) Plan For Failure (Romans 8:1)
- Set your mindset on being humble enough to press on. Perfection is not the goal; it's relationship with King Jesus.
4) Enjoy The Process
- Don't be hard on yourself. If being consistent was a piece of cake, we would all be frosted with achievements. Consistency is a discipline, not perfection—so celebrate and seek joy in the growth you see along the way.
We're headed into a new season. Challenge yourself, reflect and pray on how you can become more spiritually consistent.
This message is not "try harder, do better"
This message is about stepping into the purpose Jesus has for you and allowing Him to transform your heart and habits.
Will you make room in your heart for His plans? Could you accept His way for your life?
Is consistency really that intimidating if it means growing closer to your Heavenly Father and Friend?
Join us for a new Declaration this upcoming Sunday.
