What Does Surrender Mean For Me?
Our theme, Surrender, is a reminder that following Jesus isn't about trying harder. It's about trusting deeper. Surrender isn't giving up—it's giving every part of our lives to the One who gave everything for us. Through Christ, we can lay down our burdens, release our fears, and walk in the freedom He offers. Here's how we hope this retreat will impact your life:
...Surrender To Christ
At the heart of Galatians 2:20 is the invitation to lay down our own way of living so Christ can live through us. As we surrender our hearts, desires, and plans to Him, we discover the abundant life only He can give.
...Surrender Your Burdens
Anxiety. Fear. Doubt. Family struggles. Unanswered questions. Pain from the past. We were never meant to carry these alone. This retreat is an opportunity to place every burden into God's hands and trust that He is faithful to carry what we cannot.
...Surrender Control & Trust God's Plan
Life rarely unfolds the way we expect, but surrender reminds us that God is still in control. Even in seasons of uncertainty, we can trust His timing, His promises, and His purpose, knowing that His plans are always good.
...Surrender Together
God never intended for us to walk through life alone. As women gather to worship, pray, and encourage one another, we'll be reminded that surrender isn't a solitary journey. We find strength in community as we point each other back to Christ and faithfully walk together.

Saturday: September 13

Afterwards, we will have a light breakfast and dive into more fun activities and hear from our mission we are supporting!
Oblong Christian Children's Home exists to glorify God by providing loving, family-style homes that help at-risk youth grow in faith, character, and purpose. Their hope is that every child will know the love of Christ, experience the security of family, and discover lasting hope for the future.
Who They Serve:
Abused, troubled, or at-risk children and youth (ages 5 to 16) who are experiencing difficult home situations, trauma, behavioral challenges, or academic struggles.
Family-Style Living:
Children live in separate homes on campus with full-time houseparents who provide a stable, loving, and structured environment.
Spiritual & Educational Growth: Care is rooted in Scripture, prayer, and mentorship, with education provided through their on-campus school (New Life Academy) or local Christian schools.
Healing & Reunification:
Their overarching goal is to offer healing from trauma and to equip children with healthy coping skills, with the ultimate target of reuniting children with their families whenever possible.
